The most gorgeous house, beautifully decorated and furnished. Sitting outside in the evening and being able to hear the stags roar in the nearby mountains was just the most magical experience. Hamish our host incredibly accommodating and communicative.

Fantastic place, can't recommend it enough! Really spacious, comfortable, serene - we even woke up to horses grazing in the back yard! Hamish is a great host and is very responsive. If you want somewhere that's isolated with great views but with a luxury feel then this is the place for you!

The vista from the lounge, kitchen, dinning room and deck IS what this place is all about. the house itself boasts a large and useful space for family/friends small functions and get-togethers, obviously this has been set up for entertaining which is perfect given the fact you are in this space and place because of the A, location, B the 'eco-ness' of the build itself.

An amazing spot - the house is fabulous and the location is outstanding. There were 6 of us and we found it was big enough for us all to relax and have our own space as well as enjoy each other’s company. Hamish was a great host - would recommend a stay here to everyone.

We were a group of 8 and had the best time here. This is a gorgeous property, there is so much detail in every aspect of the house and not to forget the views from the backyard! We had our dinner outdoors with the backdrop of the mountains and it was such a great space for the kids to play some cricket too. Just beautiful!!! Made our Kaikoura stay magical.

Of all the places we have stayed in New Zealand, THIS is the most well appointed place we have ever stayed at; it's clear Hamish has lovingly and thoughtfully built and created this stunning retreat. And not just for a grand show, but every small detail down to quality of the linens, towels, organic shampoo, it was pure joy to experience this haven.
